Three Tuskegee first half turnovers provided Albany State with enough cushion to pull away with 21-0 victory inside ASU Stadium Saturday afternoon. The loss handed TU its third straight on the season, falling to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC.
The Golden Rams struck first with 1:03 left to play in the opening quarter when Tracy Scott found the end zone on a four-yard run.
Ahmad Deramus threw his third interception of the first half which directly led to the second score of the game when Scott scampered on a six-yard touchdown run with 11:19 to play in the second quarter, increasing ASU's lead to 14-0.
TU had points removed from the scoreboard with 22 seconds left to play in the first half when Deramus connected with
Steven Hodges, who hauled in a catch between two defenders. The play was negated by a holding call, leaving the score 14-0 at the break.
ASU broke things open late in the third quarter after Javon Wooten connected with Dionte Bonneau on a nine-yard touchdown pass to round out the scoring at 21-0.
Defensively, TU held the Golden Rams to only 28 yards, but they also allowed 234 yards rushing.
Skegee will face Morehouse next Saturday in the annual Tuskegee/Morehouse Classic in Columbus, Ga. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
