Jade Wilson scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and the Tuskegee University women's basketball team topped Paine College Monday evening 66-62 inside Chappie James Arena on the campus of Tuskegee University. The win gives TU its fifth SIAC victory of the season, which ties last season's conference total.

The Golden Tigers led 19-13 after the first period, shooting 43 percent from field. They would extend their lead to 10 points, 37-27 at halftime and at that point, Wilson had fallen two rebounds shy of earning a double-double at the break scoring 12 points and eight boards before halftime.

TU dominated with points in the paint outscoring the Lions 32-20. There was also a huge disparity with second chance points with Skegee leading in the category 14-15. 

The Golden Tigers created their biggest lead with 8:53 left to play when they led by as many as 13 points.

India Blakely also scored 16 points on an efficient 6-of-11 shooting from the field. The Troy, Ala. native also connected on three of her four three point attempts. Normesha Pitts, who came away with a pair of clutch free throws with 17 seconds left in the game, scored 11 points, Teja Finley scored a season-high 10 points while Christina Massey added seven points and 10 rebounds.

TU will play its third straight home game Saturday when they host Kentucky State Saturday in a doubleheader that starts at 1 p.m. The game can be seen live on the Tuskegee Digital Network
