TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee University women's basketball team dropped its first conference game of the season falling 58-39 at home to Benedict College Saturday afternoon. The loss for TU was only its second at Chappie James this season. 

TU was held to 29.3 percent shooting which led to Benedict improving to 11-4 overall and 6-0 in the SIAC. Skegee now falls to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the SIAC.

Jade Wilson led the Golden Tigers with nine points and five rebounds. Eleana Daniels also scored nine on the day with Shelle Daniels adding six points. It would mark the first time this season that no one scored in double figures for TU.

BC scored 17 points off turnovers, ourscored the Golden Tigers from the bench (14-9) and led for the entire game.

Ay'Anna Bey led the Lady Tigers with 17 points. Ayanna Armstead had a double-double with 10 points and a season-high 10 rebounds. Jasmine Gholson added 10 points.

Tuskegee will host Paine College Monday night in a doubleheader that starts at 5:30 p.m. The game will be live on the Tuskegee Digital Network
