Volleyball to host home opener in conference tilt against Albany State

The battle of the Goldens take place Tuesday evening from Chappie James Arena when Tuskegee plays host to Albany State in its home opener at 6 p.m. The match will feature a pair teams getting their first taste of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action of the young season.

Tuskegee (0-4) is in search of its first win after dropping all three games at the Warhawk Invitational last weekend. Crystal Hall enters the game as the team leader in Kills (25) and points (29). Defensively, the team relies heavily on the play of Cyrani Butler who has notched 25 kills through four games. Teammate Santana Lewis has 23 of her own.

In its most recent game, ASU was swept at Valdosta State in straight sets this past Saturday falling to 0-5 overall. In that match, they were outpaced in kills, 38-17 and also allowed 16 servcice aces. Janni Cheeks leads the Golden Rams in Kills (28) and Digs (43).

Tuesday's match gets underway at 6 p.m. and be seen live on the Tuskegee Digital Network. Bryon Muccular and Deja Washington will call live action.
