Game 1

The Tuskegee University softball team slipped to 2-18 overall after dropping a pair of games at the University of Alabama-Huntsville earlier this afternoon in Huntsville, Ala. The visiting Golden Tigers fell 18-0 in game one and 17-0 in game two. Both games ended in the fifth inning.

UAH scored 10 times in the opening inning, providing enough run support for freshman pitcher Kiara Akles who would limit the Golden Tigers to just one hit in the abbreviated five-inning affair.  Shambrinetta Adams earned Tuskegee's lone hit on game one.

Kyah Dumas fell to 0-4 who surrended five runs.

Game 2

The Golden Tigers allowed eight runs in the first inning, which again gave the Chargers complete control early on. UAH piled up 13 hits to Tuskegee's three in the nightcap, and each of Hayes, Hammonds, Miller, and Hampton had a pair in the game. The Chargers registered seven hits for extra bases as Teague, Hayes, and Hammonds all had a homer, while Hammonds, Miller, Hampton, and Cornell logged a double in the contest also.

Miller drove in a team-high three runs, while six other Chargers knocked in a pair each: Taylor Wascavage, Hayes, Hammonds, Hampton, Malone, and Teague. Layton Murphy earned the win in the circle, going three innings while allowing just two hits and walking none, and Hayes pitched the final two frames in relief, surrendering just one hit.

Jasmyne LawrenceRoneshia Rudolph and Cecelia Tennessee all registered hits for the Golden Tigers in game two.

Due to impending weather, Tuskegee's three game set with Kentucky State that was initially scheduled for this weekend has been moved to Monday and Tuesday of next week.  Monday features a double-header with the Thorobreds that gets underway at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively. Tuesday's series finale has a 12 p.m. first pitch.
