The Tuskegee University baseball team dropped both of its opening series games with Kentucky State Saturday evening in dramatic fashion at home from Paterson Field. The Thorobreds took game one 3-2 and game two 5-1.
After KSU opened the game with a solo homer to left field,
Keldric Burton put TU on the board to tie the game 1-1 with a wild pitch in the second inning. In the third inning, The Golden Tigers took its first lead of the game at 2-1 when
Dominic Johnson grounded out but drove in
Jalen Luter.
Skegee held on to its lead for four innings until J. Ransom singled up the middle for KSU, which advanced a runner to second base on a fielding error. As a result, two runners would end up scoring allowing the Thorobreds to secure the game at 3-2.
In game two, KSU unbroke a 1-1 tie in the 10th inning when they scored four runs in the 10th inning.
Christian Marshall struck out 10 KSU batters and allowed three runs on eight hits.
The Golden Tigers will close out the three-game slate with a single game Sunday from Paterson Field at 11:00 a.m. Admission is free.
