The Tuskegee University men's basketball team dropped its second straight game Monday evening at LeMoyne Owen College in Memphis, Tenn. falling 70-61. In a rare contest, TU did not attempt a single free throw in the entire second half while the Magicians attempted 22 from the charity stripe.
Travis Flagg led the Golden Tigers with 19 points including five three pointers to go along with eight assists.
James Eads and
Daniel Roach added 13 points each with Roach shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from three point range.
Jaylan Shelton chipped seven points.
Martez Briggs scored a game-high 22 points for LOC and collected eight boards with teammate Demba Konate chipping in 16 points.
The Golden Tigers held its largest lead in the first half at the 15:55 mark, which was nine points, but the Magicians went on a 13-3 run over the next five minutes to take its first lead of the game at 15-14. In the second half, LOC created its biggest deficit for Tuskegee, opening up a 17 point advantage at the 11:29 mark.
The biggest difference in the game came at the free throw line as the Golden Tigers were only awarded a total of eight foul shots. LeMoyne Owen on the other hand took 33 attempts for the game.
