Tuskegee's late second half rally come up short Saturday afternoon at Chappie James Arena against Central State on the campus of Tuskegee University, falling 72-66 during the school's Think Pink theme day. The win for the Mauarders gives them 11 victories out of their last 13 contest.
CSU led for 36:48 of the game and held its biggest lead of 13 points with 6:36 remaining in the third period. Both teams committed its share of turnovers as TU gave it away 25 times with the Marauders committing 24 of their own.
Shelle Daniels led all scorers with 24 points and seven rebounds.
Taylor Miller, the only other player in double figures for the Golden Tigers chipped in 10 points.
Cheyenne Williams added seven points and hauled in five rebounds.
Sierra Harley led CSU with 13 points.
Saturday's Think Pink theme day was to help support those leading the fight against Breast Cancer.
Tuskegee returns home Monday evening for a double-header with Kentucky State that starts at 5:30. Fans are encouraged to wear crimson on Senior night in which TU Athletics will recognize its senior basketball players and cheerleaders.
