Just like one year ago, the Tuskegee University men's basketball team split its season series with Auburn University-Montgomery as they took down the Warhawks on the road, claiming a 62-57 win Monday night from AUM Gym. The victory provides Skegee with its third win in a row, something that has not been accomplished since the 2016-17 season.

Daniel Roach came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points including three from beyond the arc. Myles Thomas, the only other Golden Tiger in double-figures added 10 points and six rebounds while Gregg Boyd and Kaleb Morton contributed seven each.

TU held its biggest lead midway through the second half with 11:23 remaining, when they were ahead by 14 points while also outscoring the Warhawks in the paint 28-14. The Golden Tigers also took advantage in the turnovers category, outscoring its opponent 23-15.

The Golden Tigers shot 33.9 percent from the field and another 41.7 prom three three point range.

TU returns to the court Saturday when the host Valdosta State.  Tip off is set for 3 p.m.
