TUSKEGEE, Ala. | Young Harris College took control in the second and third quarters to pull away from Tuskegee University 60-49 in a non-conference women's basketball game Saturday evening at the Chappie James Arena.
The Mountain Lions won their second consecutive game as they leveled their record at 3-3, while Tuskegee fell to 1-4. YHC, which never trailed in the game, took an 8-5 lead after the first quarter as both teams got off to a slow start. However, the Mountain Lions took control of the game, outscoring the Golden Tigers 44-28 in the middle two quarters.
Cheyenne Williams led the Golden Tigers with 10 points while Jade Wilson added eight.
TU trailed by as many as seven points four different times in the second quarter. Young Harris took a 28-21 lead after a steal and layup by 
Eryn Cochran with 2:07 remaining before the half. Young Harris scored seven of the first nine points in the third quarter as the Mountain Lions took a 35-25 lead with 6:55 left on a 
Ge'Naisha Robinson layup. YHC pushed its lead to 19 points (52-33) on an 
Ashlyn Ellison free throw later in the quarter. The Mountain Lions took its largest lead - 21 points (54-33) - on a 
Sarah Garner layup 39 seconds into the fourth quarter.
Cochran led Young Harris with 14 points, five assists and three steals, while Robinson added 11 points and four rebounds. 
Briana Bell added 10 points and three rebounds. Garner led the Mountain Lions with eight rebounds and added six points. 
Sara Jorgensen also scored seven points for YHC.
