The Tuskegee University women's basketball suffered a 63-58 loss in its home opener against West Georgia Friday evening from Chappie James Arena. The results marked first time under the Quacy Barnes-Timmons era that the Golden Tigerettes came out on the losing end against the Lady Wolves. 

Junior forward Jade Wilson scored 10 of her 16 points in the first half on 5-of-7 shooting. The Indianapolis, Ind. native finished the game 8-of-12. Taylor Miller also scored in double figures with 13 points including four three pointers. 

The Golden Tigers out-rebounded the Wolves 44-31 but both teams had their share of turnovers with TU forcing 25 and committing 24 of their own allowing its opponent to score 22 points as a result.  The biggest disparity came from points score in the paint with as the Golden Tigers were outscored 30-18 in that category. Kayla Carter scored a game high 21 points to lead UWG.
 
Cheyenne Williams and Donshelle Daniels chipped in eight points each for the Golden Tigers.

The Golden Tigerettes will travel to Montgomery Tuesday to face Auburn-Montgomery (AUM) in a double-header with the men's team.  The women will tipoff at 6:00 p.m. with the men to follow.
