After playing its first two games away from campus, The Tuskegee University women's basketball team returns to campus for a home opener with West Georgia Friday night from Chappie James Arena.
Tuskegee has loss its first two games of the season by a combined five points. (AUM 58-61) and (Montevallo 71-73).Junior forward Jade Wilson is off to a fast start. as the Indianapolis, Ind. native is averaging 15 points per game following the first two contest of the season.
A win against West Georgia for
Quacy Barnes-Timmons will make her 3-0 against the Wolves as head coach at Tuskegee. UWG opened the season last weekend in Tampa, Fla. and started 1-1 with a season opening win over Palm Beach Atlantic before falling to host Tampa on Saturday evening. West Georgia is averaging 10 more points per game than they were through two games a season ago. The Wolves scored 61 per game in their first two contests in 2016-17, and
have scored 71 per game thus far this season.
Despite opening the season with a pair of losses, Tuskegee has led at halftime in each game (AUM 29-28) and Monetvallo 42-30). Tuskegee is out to improve its home record from recent seasons. The Golden Tigers posted a 4-7 record from Chappie James Arena during the 2016-17 and 3-8 mark in 2015-16
Out of 17 players, Tuskegee has five on the roster that hail from the State of Indiana and they will entertain the home crowd Friday in which the game can be heard live on the
