The Tuskegee University Volleyball team is in Birmingham as the No. 4 seed in the annual Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Tournament hosted inside the Birmingham CrossPlex starting Nov. 15-17.
Tuskegee (6-27) ended the regular season losers of their last three matches after defeating Miles College on Oct. 30. Head coach
Janay Yancey is looking forward to the challenge and competing in postseason play against No. 2E Albany State. "I'm excited and feel so privileged to be taking this team into postseason play. Yancey noted. " I'm just as proud to see the growth over the course of the season." Said Yancey
Wednesday's matchup will mark the fourth meeting between the two schools with the Golden Rams winning each of the three previous encounters. "We have seen them three times so we both know each other really well" Yancey stated. "Staying within the game is the key and if we can do that, I expect us to rise to the challenge".
The Golden Tigers take on the Golden Rams at 1 p.m. With a win, TU will play again at 7 p.m. A loss sends them to the losers bracket for a 4 p.m. match.
