For the second straight night, Jade Wilson led The Tuskegee University Women's basketball team with a game high 17 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Tigers fell to Montevallo on the final day of the GSC/SIAC Challenge Sunday evening 73-71 at Trustmark Arena.

TU took an early lead with the Falcons playing catch-up throughout the first half.  The matchup featured nine ties and seven lead changes. The Golden Tigers took a 14 point lead in the third quarter after a layup by Cheyenne Williams.

Montevallo's largest lead was by seven, which came mid-way through the first quarter by a layup from D'Miyah Foster.   The Golden Tigers would later go on a 14-4 run increasing its lead to 18-15

Donshelle Daniels was 5-of-8 from the field scoring 14 points, while Asha Stegall chipped in eight points and seven rebound 

The fourth quarter saw five ties and five lead changes with neither side seeming to let up until the Falcons went on a 6-0 run with 2:30 remaining to make the score 71-65. TU went on a 6-1 run of their own narrowing the margin at 72-70. 

Tuskegee will face West Georgia Friday evening in its home opener. The tip is off set for 6:00 p.m. with live coverage starting at 5:55 p.m. on the Tuskegee Digital Network.
