TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University women's basketball team will look to bounce back from back-to-back Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) losses at home, hosting Paine College in a conference game Monday afternoon at Booker T. Washington High School.
 
Tuskegee (5-7, 1-2 SIAC) has dropped their last two contests in conference action after winning three consecutive games before the break. The game will tip at 12 noon (cst) in Tuskegee.
 
The contest will feature two of the best in the conference when Tuskegee's Rachel Brownlee - the Preseason SIAC Player of the Year- and Janisha Wilkerson of Paine (5-8, 2-4 SIAC)– a Preseason All-Conference selection. The two are in the top in scoring in the conference and the top 15 in rebounding.
 
Brownlee is third in the conference in scoring (18.3 ppg) and 13th in rebounding (6.4 rpg), and recently scored in double figures in 36 consecutive games. Meanwhile, Wilkerson is fourth in the conference in scoring (17.7 ppg) and second in rebounding (12.1 rpg).
 
However, it is not just the two preseason picks getting all the attention this season as the supporting cast from each team has made a difference. Tierra Boykin of Paine is 11th in the conference in scoring (12.3 ppg) and among the leaders in assists (4.7 apg), while Aalyhia Wright is third in rebounding (9.0 rpg). Meanwhile, for Tuskegee, freshman Taylor Miller has proved to be one of the leaders in three-point shooting as she is 15th in the conference in scoring (10.7 ppg) and sixth in three-point field goals made (23).
 
The game Monday afternoon will feature two of the prominent scoring teams in the SIAC with Paine coming in second at 71.0 ppg, while Tuskegee is sixth averaging 67.4 ppg. Meanwhile, the Tigerettes are ninth in the league in points allowed (72.8), while Paine is the worst (77.9).
