MEMPHIS, Tenn. | Myles Thomas led three Tuskegee University men's basketball players in double figures, but it wasn't enough as LeMoyne-Owen was able to pull away for an 80-68 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory Monday night.
Travis Flagg recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 assists, while Thomas finished with a career-high 18 points - which included four three-pointers – and seven rebounds.
Daniel Roach came off the bench to add 11 points and five rebounds in the loss.
Tuskegee (5-14, 4-6 SIAC) finished the night shooting 39.7 (23-of-58) percent from the floor and 34.3 (12-of-35) from beyond the arc. They also finished the night shooting 66.7 (10-of-15) percent from the free throw line, and turned the ball over just seven times.
Meanwhile, LeMoyne-Owen (4-16, 4-5 SIAC) had a pair of players with 20-plus points – Justin Street (21) and Rashawn Brown (20). Daron Maston also added 13, while Martez Briggs finished with 11. The Magicians shot 51.0 (26-of-51) percent from the floor and 50 (8-of-16) percent from beyond the arc in the win.
The Golden Tigers return to action Saturday hosting Fort Valley State at 3:30 pm, and the game can be seen on the Tuskegee Digital Network.
