TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University women's basketball team looks to get back on track after back-to-back road losses and build momentum for the second half of the season when they travel north for a pair of games against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponents Saturday and Monday.
The Tigerettes face Lane at 1 pm (est) Saturday afternoon, and follow that up with a game against LeMoyne-Owen on the road with tip set for 5:30 pm (est) on Monday.
Tuskegee (5-11, 1-6 SIAC) is coming off of a 62-60 road loss to Central State, a game in which the Lady Marauders were able to come away with the win at the buzzer. Freshman
Taylor Miller was the lone player in double figures in the loss, leading the way with 13 points.
Brownlee is among the conference leaders in scoring and leads Tuskegee averaging 17.4 points on the season. The senior has scored in double figures in 38 of the team's 41 games, after having a streak of 36 consecutive games in double figures snapped against Benedict last week. She currently sits third in the conference in scoring through 16 games.
Meanwhile, Miller is second on the team in scoring at 10.9 points per game and is among the conference leaders in three-pointers attempted as she is shooting 24.6 (29-of-118) percent from beyond the arc. The Tigerettes have five players averaging 4.8 or more rebounds this season, led by Brownlee at 6.2 per game. Tuskegee is currently sixth in the conference in scoring offense, averaging 65.2 points per game.
