ROME, Ga. | The youthful Lady Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University were not able to overcome the experience of Shorter College on Tuesday night, falling to the Hawks 3-0 (13-25,9-25,18-25).
Freshman
Taliyana Bryant led Tuskegee (0-5) with seven kills on the night, while sophomore
Donovan Wingfield added five and freshman
Jessica Johnson four in the loss.
Janae Graham the Lady Golden Tigers with 17 assists, while reigning SIAC Defensive Player of the Week
Zahria Radford led the team with six digs.
Shorter (5-0) was paced by Elizabeth Dowd with six kills and Tiffani Estep added five, and four other players posted three or more kills. Cheyenne Frady led Shorter with 21 assists and Alli Bell 10.
Tuskegee travels to Frankfort, Ky. for the West Cluster #1 hosted by Kentucky State University this weekend, playing Central State in the opening match on Friday morning.
