Tuskegee falls to Lee

Lady Goden Tigers drop match in three sets

CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The Tuskegee University volleyball team was unable to overcome a slow start on Tuesday night, falling to Lee University 3-0 (25-8,25-8,25-13) in a non-conference match.
 
Tuskegee (2-8, 2-2 SIAC), playing their fifth match in four days, was held to just .027 hitting percentage in the loss. Taliyana Bryant, the reigning SIAC Newcomer of the Week, led Tuskegee with four kills on 22 attempts. Jacqueline Wilson and Donovan Wingfield each added three kills in the loss.
   
Janae Graham, the reigning SIAC Setter of the Week, led the Lady Golden Tigers with 11 assists; while Zahria Radford, the reigning SIAC Defensive Player of the Week, led the team with 14 digs.
 
Brooke Wilsman led Lee (3-2) with seven kills, while the Flames finished the night hitting .372 with 36 kills. Kristi Farley (14) and Sadie Johnson (13) led Lee in assists, while Wilsman added 10 digs.
 
Tuskegee is off for the next nine days and will return to action at the SIAC Crossover September 22-24 in Albany (Ga.).
