ORANGEBURG, S.C. | Rachel Brownlee recorded her second double-double of the season, but it wasn't enough as Tuskegee University fell to Claflin University 44-38 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action at the Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Physical Education Center Monday night. 
Brownlee scored a game-high 21 points 8-of-21 shooting from the floor (including connecting on one of her three three-point attempts), while hitting on 4-of-6 from the free throw line. The junior also recorded 10 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds, a blocked shot and a pair of steals. 
The 20-plus point effort was the fifth time this season that Brownlee has eclipsed the mark, and the third consecutive game that Brownlee has hit the mark. 
Tyler Everett added eight points and eight rebounds for Tuskegee (1-10, 0-3 SIAC), while 
Uche Ibebunjo added seven rebounds off the bench. 
Tuskegee ended the night shooting 31.8 (14-of-44) percent from the floor, and 14.3 (2-of-14) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 33.3 (8-of-24) percent from the free throw line, while winning the rebounding battle 40-39. 
Shaniece Brown led Claflin (9-6, 4-1 SIAC) with 11 points, while Jaquanna Davis added nine rebounds. 
Tuskegee travels to Augusta (Ga.) to face Paine College Monday night at 5:30 pm (est) in the final game of a three-game road swing to open 2016.
