TUSKEGEE, Ala. - The Tigerettes of Tuskegee University fell to the Spring Hill (Ala.) Badgers 60-46.
The Tigerettes' only lead of the contest came in the opening minutes;
Chelsea Azore landed a layup within the first 34 seconds of the opening tipoff. Spring Hill rallied with a three pointer but
Jacqueline Martin responded with a basket from downtown to put Tuskegee up by two. A trip to the free throw line by the Lady Badgers tied the contest. Spring Hill was able to go up by two but the Tigerettes were able to tie the game once again. After the 16-minute media time-out, the game belonged to Spring Hill.
Tuskegee was able to keep the contest close throughout the remainder of the first, heading into the halftime break down 27-24.
The second half was a battle for both teams, however the Tigerettes were outscore by ten.
Antionette Brown led TU in with 10-points, eight rebounds, one steal and one assist. Rachel Brownlee added nine points, two rebounds and one block. Kaylen Ward tallied eight points, two steals and one assist. Alishia Drayton paced Spring Hill with 15-points, 16 rebounds and four steals.
The Tigerettes will be back in action on Saturday, February 7
th, when they host the Miles College Lady Bears. Tipoff is set for 1:00 PM.
