COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Golden Tigers dropped a 60-44 decision to the Benedict Tigers.
The contest started shaky for both teams, the first points came on a layup by
David Alexander (18:16) for Tuskegee. The Golden Tigers maintained a narrow lead before the contest was tied at the 15:19 mark. With a back and forth battle for most of the half, Benedict was able to be a sizable 34-19 lead going into the halftime break.
In the first half, Alexander lead TU's offensive charge with 10 points and three rebounds, while
Camden Foster added four points. As a team, Tuskegee pulled in 12 rebounds and three steals.
Benedict started the scoring for the second half within the first minute to increase their lead.
Lorenzo Moore got the Golden Tigers on the scoreboard with a jumper (17:57). Tuskegee was unable to rally a comeback.
Alexander completed the game with 15 points, four rebounds and one steal. Foster finished with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.
Vladmir Tilme and
Elijah McMillian led the team with five rebounds each.
