TUSKEGEE, Ala. The Golden Tigers dropped their conference home-opener to the Paine College Lions in a 59-54 heartbreaker.
David Alexander paced the Golden Tigers with six points, one rebound and one steal, while
Kevin May added five points. As a team, Tuskegee pulled in 13 rebounds, four steals and three assists.
After halftime, the Golden Tigers struck swiftly and efficiently to take a two-point lead. The Lions nailed a jumper to tie the game at 24, going on a six-point run. The back and forth aggressive action literally continued into the final seconds of the contest with Paine emerging victorious.
Alexander ended the game with 22 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal. May finished with 12 points, three rebounds, six steals and four assists.
Camden Foster led the team with 11 rebounds.
Denzel Dillingham paced PC with 14 points, nine rebounds and one assist. Arnis Libazs added 11 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
The Golden Tigers (3-7) will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, when they host the Golden Rams of Albany State. Tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
