BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Tuskegee University Tigerettes defeated the Lady Golden Bears on their home court, despite the 26 points by Porshia Blue.
Miles College carried a 28-25 lead going into the half but Tuskegee came out blazing in the second half. The Tigerettes overcame their deficit and took the contest. The Lady Golden Bears attempted to rally back late in the second but their efforts fell short, as they were outscored 37-27 by the Tigerettes.
Demeties McNealey slick hands accounted for 14 points, five steals, and two assists for Tuskegee.
Chelsea Azore chimed in with 11 points, four rebounds and two assists; while
Jacqueline Martin tallied 10 points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal. TU's very own sharpshooter
Rachel Brownlee had an impressive outing with 13 rebounds, nine points and two assists.
Offensively, TU finished shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 66.7 from the free throw line.
The Tigerettes will be back in action again when they travel to Mobile, Alabama, on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
