MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Golden Tigers performed a simple trick on the Magicians of LeMoyne Owen, great defense, in their 73-68 victory in Memphis.
TU completed the first half up by one, 36-35 and built on the lead in the second half. It took key shots and defensive strength for the Golden Tigers to outscore LOC in the final minutes to clinch another conference victory.
Graham Olatunji and Kevin May each led the team with 15 points, Olatunji also added five rebounds, four blocks and one assist; while May had six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Vladmir Tilme and David Alexander recorded 12 points each, Tilme added eight rebounds and two blocks; while Alexander had five rebounds, four assists and one steal. The Golden Tigers finished shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 75.0 from the free throw line. They finished with 41 rebounds, 12 assists, eight steals and six blocks.
Dequan Mitchell paced LeMoyne-Owens with 26 points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist.
