TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee University Tigerettes suffered a bruising 47-70 loss to the Fort Valley State University Lady Wildcats.
Fort Valley dominated the opening minutes with eight quick points. The Tigerettes were able to get on the scoreboard with jumper by
Chelsea Azore at the 18:30 mark. Entering halftime the score was 39-23, in favor of the Lady Wildcats.
Rachel Brownlee posted 14 points; four rebounds and one steal to lead the Tigerettes' offensive effort in the opening half.
Halle Bentley led the team in rebounds with five. Tuskegee combined for 17 rebounds, four steals and three assists.
The Tigerettes started scoring in the second half to cut the point deficit. Despite their second half efforts, Tuskegee was unable to rally back.
Brownlee ended the game with 22 points and nine rebounds.
Demetries McNealey added nine points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. Bentley also finished the contest with nine rebounds.
