TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tigerettes dropped a 61-60 nail biter to the Lady Rams of Albany State University.
The opening half started with furious back and forth actions by both teams, yet Tuskegee was able to take five-point lead going into the halftime break.
Rachel Brownlee posted 14 points; three rebounds and one assist to lead the Tigerettes' offensive effort in the first half.
Demetries McNealey added six points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Collectively, Tuskegee combined for 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block.
The Lady Rams started scoring in the second half to cut TU's lead to three, however the Tigerettes were able to nail two free throws to increase the lead back to five. The remainder of the contest followed the opening minutes of the second, before coming down to the wire. With 1:19 remaining the score was tied at 60 apiece, ASU was sent to the line with 27 seconds remaining to take the lead and game by one.
Brownlee ended the game with 22 points and six rebounds.
