TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee University Tigerettes (11-8, 7-3 SIAC) dropped a close basketball contest on Saturday afternoon at the James Center Arena. The Stillman College Lady Tigers (7-14, 3-8 SIAC) ended the Tigerettes' four-game winning streak, upending the SIAC West leading team, 54-49.
Three Tigerettes scored in double figures, led by
Kajuanna Rivers with 14,
Alannah Vincent and
Marie McAbee with 11 and 10 points, respectively. McAbee also grabbed 11 rebounds.
Stillman also had three players in double figures. Samanthia netted 15 points, followed by Jamesha Watkins with 14 and Angel Mitchell with 11.
Each team corralled 46 rebounds, but the Lady Tigers shot 35.6 percent from the floor to 26.5 percent for the Tigerettes.
The Tigerettes will be back in action on Monday, facing the Lady Bears of Miles College at 5:30 p.m. at the James Center Arena.
