Golden Tigers Eviscerated the Thorobreds 38-9

Tuskegee, Ala. – The Tuskegee University Golden Tigers' football team disemboweled the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University 38-9 in front of a homecoming crowd of 31,756.

With a few tactical errors, Tuskegee's football team still pulled ahead and never looked back. For the second week in a row, Hoderick Lowe started scoring for the Golden Tigers on a 34-yard scamper into the end zone. Trevor Wylie perfectly placed the ball between the uprights for the point after. Cade Berryman scored a 35-yard field goal for KSU to make the score 7-3.

Trevor Wylie scored a 23-yard field goal at the 10:23 mark; while Desmond Reece snatched down a 13-yard pass from Justin Nared with 1:02 remaining in the 1st half. Going into the locker room at halftime, TU was up 17-3. 

In the third, quarterback Kevin Lacey scored on a 5-yard quarterback keeper (08:16), Wylie's kick was good; while Osband Thompson scored an 87-yard pick six. The score was 31-3 at the conclusion of the quarter.

In the final 15-minutes of the contest, the scoring was split. Larry Cobb was on the receiving end of a 20-yard dart from Nared. Once again, Wylie's PAT sailed through the uprights. Jacquise Locket dashed into the end zone from 17-yards out for Kentucky State but Cade Berryman's kick was blocked.  

Justin Nared completed 4-4 for 92-yards and two touchdowns, while Kevin Lacey went 10-11-0 on the night for 180-yards. WR Tyree Brooks tallied 36-yards on four receptions while Lowe rushed for 58-yards on five carries and one touchdown.

Defensively, El'Malik Chinn led the Golden Tigers with 10 total tackles, five solo and five assists. Osband Thompson finished with eight tackles, six solo and two assists, and one interception returned 87-yards for a touchdown. Michael Robinson completed the game with three solo and three assist for a total of six tackles and one tackle for a loss of one yard.

The Golden Tigers will travel to Wilberforce, Ohio, on November 1, 2014 to take on the Central State Marauders; kick-off is set for 1:30 pm EST. Central State defeated Stillman College 41-14.
