Kyle Beard 2026

Kyle Beard

In his first season at Tuskegee, Kyle Beard enters his 17th season as a college soccer coach, bringing a proven track record of building successful programs and developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Most recently at Evangel University, Beard transformed the Valor Men’s Soccer program, leading the team to its first back-to-back winning seasons in program history. In 2025, Evangel posted an 8-5-5 record, marking the third consecutive season with the highest single-season winning percentage in school history. The team also reached the conference playoffs for the first time ever, while tying for the most wins in a single season in program history. In addition Beard passed the 100 wins mark in his career in 2025.

Beard arrived at Evangel with a reputation as a program builder after successfully revitalizing soccer programs at three different institutions over the previous 16 years.

Before Evangel, Beard served at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, where he helped launch the university’s men’s soccer program during the closing stages of the COVID pandemic.

Prior to TAMUSA, Beard spent eight seasons as head coach at Faulkner University, where he engineered one of the most successful stretches in program history. Competing in one of the nation’s toughest conferences, he led the Eagles to four consecutive postseason appearances and helped the program reach new heights. From 2016–2019, Faulkner placed 20 student-athletes on All-Southern States Athletic Conference teams and recorded at least nine wins in three straight seasons, highlighted by a program-best 10-6 campaign in 2017. Beard-led teams accounted for 69% of the program’s all-time wins and 89% of its conference victories.

Beard began his coaching career in Texas at the club, high school, and semi-professional levels before moving his family to Rwanda in 2006 to serve with the Rwandan Football Federation. During his four years there, he served as head coach of the Women’s National Team, directed the country’s first Youth Futsal League, and advised the Men’s U-17 and U-20 National Teams.

While in Rwanda, Beard and his wife, Luz, also helped plant one of the first evangelical churches in the nation following the Rwandan Civil War of the 1990s—a mission they continue to support today.

Beard entered collegiate coaching in 2009 as the founding head coach of the men’s soccer program at Lubbock Christian University. In three seasons, he led the Chaparrals to a 31-16-8 overall record and back-to-back appearances in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament. In 2011, LCU posted a 14-4-3 record, finished as the SAC regular-season runner-up, and advanced to the SAC Tournament Championship match—setting the program record for most wins in a season. His players earned numerous honors, including NAIA All-America recognition, SAC Player of the Year, SAC Offensive Player of the Year, SAC Newcomer of the Year, and 10 total All-SAC selections.

A native of Tyler Texas,  Beard earned his bachelor’s degree from Lubbock Christian in 2000. He later continued his education in conflict resolution, strategic management, and leadership.

He also holds coaching licenses, diplomas and certificates from the United States Soccer Federation, United Soccer Coaches, Rwanda Football Association, and the Football Association of England.
