ABOUT TUSKEGEE (9-3, 8-1 SIAC)
Tuskegee enters the week playing some of its most consistent basketball of the season, driven by balanced scoring, physical defense, and improved efficiency on both ends of the floor.
The Golden Tigers have leaned heavily on their experienced backcourt, led by
Kusamae Draper, who averages 16.3 points per game while averaging 7.2 rebounds and shooting efficiently from the field and providing steady leadership in late-game situations.
Khalil Genwright continues to be a reliable scoring option on the outside, contributing 15.7 points per game and serving as a focal point of Tuskegee's half-court offense. Meanwhile,
RJ Walker also adds versatility on the perimeter, averaging 11.5 points, 2.8 steals and 2.7 assists per game while running the lead guard spot.
As a team, Tuskegee averages 67.1 points per game, shooting 39.3 percent from the field, and has shown growth in defensive efficiency, holding opponents under 62 points per contest during recent conference play.
ABOUT LEMOYNE-OWEN (4-6, 4-5 SIAC)
LeMoyne-Owen enters Thursday's matchup looking to rebound as it navigates a challenging stretch of SIAC competition.
The Magicians are led offensively by a guard-heavy lineup that emphasizes pace and perimeter scoring.
The leading scorers, LaDricus Pittman (14.8 points) and Kyle Houston (13.9 points), carry the offense, with LeMoyne-Owen relying on transition opportunities and aggressive guard play to generate offense. The Magicians average 62.4 points per game and will look to pressure Tuskegee defensively in hopes of creating turnovers and quick scoring chances.
ABOUT LANE (8-2, 7-2 SIAC)
Lane presents a different challenge on Saturday, bringing one of the conference's most disciplined and efficient teams into the Chappie James Center. The Dragons are among the SIAC's top scoring units, averaging 83.5 points per game, while also ranking near the top of the league in field goal percentage.
Lane is led by a balanced scoring attack, with four players averaging double figures, including a pair of primary scorers in Elijah Greer Dawson at 22.1 points and Elijah Lewis averaging 21.2 points per game along with strong rebounding numbers. Lane's ability to control tempo and limit mistakes makes Saturday's contest a key test for Tuskegee's defensive discipline.
Head Coach
Benjy Taylor emphasized the importance of defending home court during this stretch, noting the team's growth in execution, communication, and composure. Tuskegee has shown steady improvement in shot selection, defensive rotations, and late-game decision-making as conference play intensifies.
