Tuskegee Women’s Basketball Tops Spring Hill 69-58 Behind Balanced Offense

TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The Tuskegee women's basketball team picked up a strong home victory Wednesday night, defeating Spring Hill 69-58 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.

Tuskegee's balanced scoring and efficient execution propelled the Golden Tigers to the win as the program continued its run through league play.

From the opening tip, Tuskegee asserted control with a confident offensive attack and tenacious defense. The Golden Tigers raced out to an early lead, pushing the pace and converting high-percentage shots that set the tone for a productive night.

Tuskegee hit 50 percent from the field and shot 47.4 percent from beyond the arc, while limiting Spring Hill's opportunities through disciplined defensive effort. The Golden Tigers also made the most of their trips to the free-throw line, converting 4-of-5 attempts in key moments.

Junior guard Tenea Robinson led the Golden Tigers with a breakout performance, scoring a season-high 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting while adding six rebounds, three assists, and several hustle plays that energized the Tuskegee bench. Robinson's work in transition and on the glass helped the Golden Tigers sustain offensive rhythm throughout the night.

Senior guard Arianna Durrell continued her strong season with 17 points, including 5-for-10 from long range, giving Tuskegee a major perimeter threat. She also contributed with a pair of rebounds and steals, displaying her impact on both ends of the floor.

Junior Shemaiah Mackin provided steady interior scoring with 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting, while Breanna Glaze added nine points, knocking down a trio of three-pointers and helping to stretch the defense.

The Golden Tigers' effort was highlighted by a well-balanced scoring attack that saw contributions from multiple players, helping Tuskegee build and maintain a double-digit lead through much of the second half. The defense forced turnovers and contested shots, holding Spring Hill to 40.4 percent shooting on the evening.

With the victory, Tuskegee improves to 9-5 overall and 9-4 in SIAC play, continuing its push toward the upper tier of the conference standings. The Golden Tigers will now turn their attention to their next contest as the SIAC season continues.

Up Next
Tuskegee women's basketball will hit the road to continue conference play on Saturday, Jan. 17, when the Golden Tigers travel to take on rival Miles for a pivotal SIAC matchup and a rematch of last year's SIAC Championship game.
