Tuskegee Completes First Scrimmage of 2025 Fall Camp

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – After five days of fall camp, the Tuskegee University football team took to the field on Monday, Aug. 11, for its first scrimmage of the 2025 preseason.

The Golden Tigers showed energy, competitiveness, and continued growth as they tested themselves in full-contact situations for the first time this fall.

Head Coach Aaron James and his staff used the scrimmage to evaluate players in live game scenarios, focusing on execution, physicality, and situational awareness.

"We saw a lot of positive things today," said Coach James. "Guys were flying around, competing, and showing improvement from the first five practices. We also identified some areas we need to clean up, and that's exactly what these scrimmages are for."

The scrimmage wrapped up an intense first week of camp that included position drills, install sessions, and introductory team meetings. The coaching staff plans to review film and use the coming practices to adjust and improve ahead of the next scheduled scrimmage.

Tuskegee opens the 2025 season on Sunday, Aug. 31, against Winston-Salem State in the fifth annual Red Tails Classic in Montgomery at the Cramton Bowl.
