Tuskegee Places 83 on SIAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team; Nine Teams Lead Conference in GPA

ATLANTA, Ga. – Tuskegee University continues to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence, placing 83 student-athletes on the 2024-25 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner's All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

The SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team comprises a roster of student-athletes who excelled on their respective playing fields and in the classroom, earning a 3.4 or better cumulative grade point average for the academic year.

The SIAC recognized 908 student-athletes for their academic excellence in the release of its 2024-25 SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team, All-Academic Team and individual team honors.

Student-athletes named to the SIAC All-Academic Team held the highest cumulative grade point averages within their respective sports.

Tuskegee's honorees represented ten sports, including football, cross country, volleyball, indoor track and field, women's basketball, men's basketball, outdoor track and field, baseball, and softball.

The Golden Tigers also had several student-athletes named to the SIAC All-Academic Team, which recognizes the top academic performer in each sport.

Among this year's standouts were Serenity Mitchell, who was honored in women's cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field, Lauren Canady, Taylor Coleman and Chloe Edwards in volleyball, Jayden Davidson in men's indoor track and field, and Ryan Morrow in baseball.

In addition to individual accolades, Tuskegee led the conference with the highest team GPA in nine sports. The women's cross country team posted a 3.77 GPA, followed by women's indoor and outdoor track and field at 3.55. The football and baseball programs each recorded a 3.54 GPA.

Men's outdoor track and field earned a 3.50, while men's cross country followed closely with a 3.49. Men's indoor track and field posted a 3.47 GPA, and men's basketball rounded out the group with a 3.46.

Director of Athletics Reginald praised the student-athletes and academic staff for their accomplishments, stating, "This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes and the support systems in place. To have both individual and team academic success at this level is a true reflection of the culture we have built at Tuskegee."

Tuskegee remains a leader within the SIAC in both academic and athletic performance, continuing its tradition of excellence across all programs.
