ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has named Tuskegee standouts
Hilani Cantone and
Brittney Bolin to the 2024-25 All-SIAC Women's Basketball Team.
Cantone earned First Team honors, while Bolin secured a spot on the Second Team. Their impressive performances throughout the season have been instrumental in Tuskegee's success, as the Golden Tigers prepare for the quarterfinal round of the SIAC Basketball Championship at Forbes Arena this week.
Cantone, a veteran leader on both ends of the floor, has been the driving force behind Tuskegee's offense this season.
The graduate guard has led the team in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from three-point range. She scored in double figures 18 times this season, including four games with at least 20 points. Her season-high came against Clark Atlanta, where she erupted for 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting.
Cantone also provided a strong presence on the glass, recording two double-doubles, including a 17-point, 10-rebound performance against Central State. Her playmaking ability was evident as well, posting a season-high seven assists against Miles College. On the defensive end, she consistently made an impact, tallying multiple steals in 12 games, with a season-high six steals against Lane.
Bolin, another key contributor for the Golden Tigers, has been a model of consistency throughout the season.
The graduate guard started all 26 games and averaged 34.4 minutes per contest. She provided steady production on offense, recording 281 total points for an average of 10.8 per game. A highly efficient free-throw shooter, Bolin led the team with an 84.7 percent mark from the charity stripe while shooting 34.4 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from deep.
She posted 15 double-figure scoring performances, including three straight games with at least 15 points. Her best scoring output came against West Florida, where she dropped a season-high 23 points. Bolin also showcased her defensive prowess, leading the team with 1.9 steals per game and registering multiple steals in 10 games, highlighted by a five-steal performance against Central State. She was also active on the boards, grabbing a season-high eight rebounds against Lane and dishing out a season-high six assists versus Columbus State.
With Cantone and Bolin leading the charge, Tuskegee enters the SIAC quarterfinals with an 18-9 overall record and a 14-5 mark in conference play.
The Golden Tigers will face No. 6 seed Spring Hill on Thursday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. ET inside Forbes Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. A win would send Tuskegee to the semifinals on Friday, March 7, at 8:00 p.m. ET as they continue their pursuit of an SIAC Championship.
