Devon Lee Named to All-SIAC Baseball Second Team, Tuskegee Picked Eighth in Preseason Poll

ATLANTA, Ga. – Tuskegee sophomore Devon Lee has been named to the 2024 All-SIAC Second Team as a utility player, recognizing his impressive versatility and contributions on both sides of the ball during the 2024 season.

The sophomore played a key role for the Golden Tigers, delivering consistent performances offensively, defensively, and on the mound.

Lee was a standout at the plate, finishing the season with a .299 batting average across 34 games, including 33 starts. He tallied 26 hits in 87 at-bats, recording four doubles, one triple, 13 RBIs, and 18 runs scored while maintaining a .368 slugging percentage.

His discipline at the plate was evident as he drew nine walks and was hit by a pitch three times, contributing to a .384 on-base percentage. Lee was also a threat on the basepaths, swiping 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts, making him one of the team's most reliable runners.

Defensively, Lee showcased his versatility, playing multiple positions throughout the season. He finished the year with 40 putouts and 48 assists, good for a .889 fielding percentage, but also demonstrated his ability to impact games as a pitcher.

On the mound, Lee made 12 appearances, including 11 starts, compiling a 3-5 record with a 7.29 ERA over 63.0 innings pitched. He struck out 41 batters while allowing 51 earned runs and holding opponents to a .321 batting average.

Lee's standout moments included a multi-hit performance against conference rival Benedict, where he drove in multiple runs to help secure a key victory. Additionally, he had a dominant pitching outing against Miles College, throwing six solid innings while allowing just two earned runs and striking out five.

Lee's ability to contribute as a hitter, base runner, fielder, and pitcher made him one of the most valuable players for Tuskegee throughout the 2024 season. His All-SIAC Second Team selection highlights his dedication and impact, and he is expected to be a key player for the Golden Tigers moving forward.

The conference office also released their 2025 predicted order of finish on Wednesday morning. The Golden Tigers were voted to finish eighth in the SIAC standings, just behind Kentucky State and above Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Lane, and LeMoyne-Owen.

Tuskegee opened the season last weekend, taking the opening weekend series 2-1 over Stillman at home. They will return to the diamond on Saturday, with a doubleheader to kick off a three-game road series against Tougaloo.
