Men’s Basketball Set for Historic NBA HBCU All-Star Classic Matchup Against Morehouse

Golden Tigers Look to Snap Losing Streak on the National Stage at All-Star Weekend

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Tuskegee men's basketball team will take center stage on the national platform as they face Morehouse College in the 2025 NBA HBCU All-Star Classic on Saturday, February 15 at Oakland Arena in San Francisco, California.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time as the two Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rivals square off in front of an NBA All-Star Weekend audience.

The Golden Tigers enter the matchup with a 10-12 overall record and an 8-8 mark in SIAC play, currently looking to regain their footing after dropping their last three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Morehouse sits at 13-10 overall and 10-5 in SIAC action, holding firm in the upper half of the conference standings.

ABOUT TUSKEGEE (10-12, 8-8 SIAC)
Tuskegee has had a season of highs and lows, displaying flashes of dominance while also struggling to find consistency in close games.

The Golden Tigers have a +2.6-scoring margin, averaging 65.8 points per game while allowing just 63.2 to opponents.

The defensive effort has been a strong point, as they are holding teams to just 38.2 percent shooting from the field and 28.4 percent from beyond the arc—one of the best marks in the SIAC.

Leading the charge for Tuskegee is senior forward Kevin Sesberry, who has been the offensive focal point, averaging 17.0 points per game on 43.2 percent shooting, while knocking down 37.1 percent of his three-point attempts. Sesberry has also been a force on the glass, pulling down 4.9 rebounds per contest.

Right behind him is Kusamae Draper, who is averaging 15.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, serving as a dominant presence in the paint.

D'Anthony Pennington has also played a crucial role, contributing 12.5 points per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from deep.

Tuskegee's three-game skid includes back-to-back nail-biting losses against Miles (54-56) and Lane (62-65), despite strong performances from Sesberry and Pennington.

The Golden Tigers will be looking to flip the momentum and make a statement in this high-profile matchup.

ABOUT MOREHOUSE (13-10, 10-5 SIAC)
Morehouse enters the contest with a 13-10 record, including a 10-5 mark in SIAC play, making them one of the stronger teams in the conference this season.

The Maroon Tigers have been steadier offensively than Tuskegee, averaging 73.0 points per game while allowing 72.2, giving them a narrow +0.8 scoring margin.

Their offense is led by Cedric Taylor III, who has been a scoring machine, averaging 15.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, while also hitting 30.9 percent of his three-pointers.

The Maroon Tigers also rely on JerMontae Hill, who contributes 10.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, and Josiah Lawson, who has stepped up in recent games, averaging 10.6 points per contest.

One of the biggest strengths for Morehouse has been their ability to shoot the three-pointer, making 32.0 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc compared to Tuskegee's 31.7 percent.

Defensively, they have been slightly weaker than the Golden Tigers, allowing opponents to shoot 43.5 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from three-point range.

With the NBA HBCU All-Star Classic as the backdrop, this game is more than just an SIAC matchup. The contest serves as an opportunity for both teams to showcase HBCU basketball talent on a national stage.

For Tuskegee, this is a chance to snap their losing streak and build confidence heading into the final stretch of conference play. For Morehouse, a win would strengthen their position in the SIAC standings as they push toward postseason play.

Fans can catch the action live from Oakland Arena, with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. CT). The game will be broadcast on NBA TV and streamed via the NBA's digital platforms as part of NBA All-Star Weekend.
