TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The Tuskegee men's basketball team will take the floor inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center this Wednesday, November 5, at 12 noon, hosting Talladega College in an exhibition matchup celebrating Macon County Day.
The game marks the Golden Tigers' first home appearance of the 2025–26 campaign after opening preseason play last week against Eastern Michigan in Detroit.

Tuskegee dropped a competitive 73-65 decision to Eastern Michigan in its exhibition opener, showcasing promising depth and balanced scoring across the roster. Preseason All-SIAC First Team selections Kusamae Draper and Khalil Genwright led the way, combining for 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Anthony Wright added ten points, six rebounds, one steal, and one block.
The Golden Tigers outscored the Eagles 39-32 in the second half, shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range during the late rally.
Tuskegee returns to action following a 16-14 overall record and 11-9 mark in SIAC play last season under head coach Benjy Taylor, finishing as the SIAC runner-up after falling in the championship game. The Golden Tigers averaged 66.6 points per game while holding opponents to 63.4 points, shooting 43.5 percent from the floor and 34.6 percent from three-point range. The team also posted a +2.5-rebound margin per contest.
Wednesday's opponent, Talladega College, provides a strong early test. The Tornadoes, a perennial NAIA contender, is coming off a 19-10 overall record and 10-5 mark in conference play during the 2024-25 season.
The Tornadoes, known for their high-energy defense and disciplined play, averaged 74.2 points per game while holding opponents to 66.3 points, shooting 46 percent from the field and 35 percent from long range. Talladega returns several key contributors and adds a mix of transfers and underclassmen and will look to have continued success under new head coach Jameus Hartsfield.
Following the exhibition, Tuskegee will open the regular season on Friday, November 14, against West Florida at 4 p.m. as part of the SIAC/GSC Crossover, hosted by AUM. The Golden Tigers will face the host Warhawks on Saturday, November 15 at 6 p.m. inside the AUM Athletics Complex.
