TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee standout kicker
Lorcan Ryans has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Special Teams Player of the Week, following his flawless performance in the Golden Tigers' 38-24 victory over Kentucky State. Ryans was a critical contributor to Tuskegee's fourth consecutive win, solidifying his reputation as one of the most reliable kickers in the SIAC.
Ryans was perfect in his kicking duties, converting all five of his extra-point attempts and hitting a key 43-yard field goal in the second quarter to extend Tuskegee's lead. His field goal came at a crucial moment, helping Tuskegee maintain momentum and increase the pressure on Kentucky State. Throughout the game, he demonstrated poise and consistency under pressure, which has made him a vital asset to the Golden Tigers' special teams unit this season.
In addition to his kicking accuracy, the sophomore played a significant role in the field position battle, delivering several well-placed punts that helped pin Kentucky State deep in their own territory. His ability to shift field position through both his kicking and punting provided the Golden Tigers with a decisive advantage throughout the game.
Ryans' efforts have been instrumental in Tuskegee's strong showing in the SIAC, where the team now stands at 4-1 in conference play and 4-3 overall. As the season progresses, Ryans' consistency in special teams will continue to be a cornerstone for the Golden Tigers as they push toward postseason success.
With this latest accolade, Ryans further cements his place as one of the top special teams players in the conference, and his contributions will be essential as Tuskegee continues to battle for a spot at the top of the SIAC standings.
