ATLANTA, Ga. __ Tuskegee freshman receiver
DeJuan McGhee has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Special Teams Player of the Week following the Golden Tigers' 37-31 season opening victory over Fort Valley State on Sunday.
McGhee returned three total kickoffs in the Boeing Red Tails Classic, averaging 45.0 yards per return. The freshman gained 23 and 20 yards on his first two kickoff returns of the game, before proving to be a crucial part of the contest in the third quarter after returning a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, giving Tuskegee a 20-point lead at 37-17.
McGhee totaled 135 yards on his three returns to help the Golden Tigers on their way to a 1-0 start in 2023 heading into week two.
