Tuskegee Football Receiving Votes in Latest AFCA Poll, Remain Third in BOXTOROW Coaches Poll

TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ The Golden Tiger football program is receiving votes in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Top 25 poll, released on Monday afternoon.
 
Tuskegee (2-0), received 16 votes in the poll, will play host to Central State (1-1) in the 2023 home opener on Saturday Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. inside Abbott Memorial Alumni Stadium. The matchup is TU's first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) contest of 2023, a game where the Tuskegee University Athletic Hall of Fame (TUAHOF) class of 2023 will also be honored.

Meanwhile, the Golden Tigers remain third in week two's edition of the HBCU Division II Coaches Poll powered by BOXTOROW, receiving one first place vote after the 36-10 win on the road over Kentucky State.

The top five teams from Week 1 remained in the top five with Benedict, Virginia Union, and Tuskegee retaining the top three spots. Virginia State moved up one spot to No. 4, while Bowie State dropped a spot to No. 5.
