Smith Jr. to Assist with Pro Sport Combine in Canada

TUSKEGEE – Tuskegee football wide receivers coach Clinton Smith, Jr. has been selected to be one of the coaches in the Pro Sport Combine being held at the Athlete's Compound in Edmonton, Canada on day and day, June 10-11.

The two-day event is available to all sports and athletes over the age of 14 and is being host by CFL All-Stars and Grey Cup Champions of the league, including Odell Willis, Coach Kavis Reed, and Darian Durant among others.

Smith has proven himself to be a rising offensive mind in the game so far, picking up two SIAC West Division crowns in just two years of collegiate coaching. He helped Tuskegee win the west in 2022 as the wide receivers coach, following a 2021 division title at Miles while serving as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator.

Prior to his start in collegiate football, he put in over a decade in the high school ranks, spending six years as head coach at Hillcrest-Evergreen (Ala.) High School. While at the helm, the Jaguars held a 48-29 record and earned six straight 3A playoff berths, highlighted by his team defeating Randolph County, 26-14, to win the 2017 State Championship. Smith coached 18 All-State players while helping 26 receive college scholarships at a program that had witnessed only eight winning seasons at the time since 1989.

In his own personal playing career, the Choctaw County native lettered in baseball, basketball, and football with the Tigers from 1997-2001 and is the school's only All-State quarterback.
