MOBILE, Ala. – The Tuskegee women's basketball program remained unbeaten after an in-state matchup with Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) member Spring Hill, 85-64, on Saturday afternoon inside of the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
 
The win not only helped Tuskegee (20-3, 17-0 SIAC) sweep the season series, but also secured a place atop the SIAC West Division Standings.
 
Tuskegee jumped out early in the contest, taking a 10-7 lead before the halfway mark of the first quarter on steal and score from 
JuToreyia Willis (Chattanooga, Tenn.). Later in the frame, forwards
 Ashaila Jackson (Merrillville, Ind.) and
 Nadia Thorman-Mckey (Evanston, Ill.) got into the action, helping the Golden Tigers take a double-digit lead with 3:42 to go before heading into the second up 30-13.
 
The second was a defensive period on both sides as Tuskegee was held to 13 points, while Spring Hill scored 12. The Golden Tigers held a 43-25 at halftime and cruised to a victory despite being outscored in the third 22-17.
 
Jackson led the way offensively in the win with another double-double, finishing with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds in just 21 minutes. Meanwhile, Thorman-Mckey added 20 pionts, six rebounds and five steals on the day, followed by Willis with 15 points and a career-high 10 steals and
 Brittney Bolin (Trophy Club, Texas) who finished with 11 points on the day.
 
The Golden Tigers finished with shooting splits of 40.5 (30-for-74) percent from the field, 11.1 (1-for-9) percent from long range and 75 (24-for-32) percent from the free throw line. By comparison, Spring Hill shot 46.2 (24-for-52) percent from the floor, 16.7 (2-for-12) percent from three-point range, and 87.5 (14-for-16) percent from the free throw line.
