TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Four double figure scorers led the Golden Tigers on the evening as they took down Spring Hill, 84-34, on Wednesday inside of the Daniel "Chappie" James Center to earn their seventh straight win and remain unbeaten in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play.
Tuskegee (16-3, 13-0 SIAC) did not trail after tying the game at 2-2 on their first possession, taking a short lead before the game was tied for the final time at 6-6 after a score from Spring Hill at the 6:48 mark.
Shortly after,
Ashiala Jackson (Merrillville, Ind.) converted on a steal and score to spark an 8-1 run over the next three minutes to go up 14-7 and closed the quarter with another run to lead after 21-10 one.
The Golden Tigers continued to gain momentum in the second, going up 29-14 halfway through the period. Despite a short run from the Badgers, Tuskegee pushed their lead to 41-22 at the half with a stretch that included a pair of threes from
Arielle McElroy (Bolingbrook, Ill.).
After a jumper from
Brittney Bolin (Trophy Club, Texas) early in the third to push the lead to over 20 points, Tuskegee maintained the lead with runs throughout the quarter. Leading by 27 with just over two minutes to go, consecutive threes from McElroy and Bolin gave Tuskegee an 63-32 advantage heading into the final ten minutes.
The Golden Tigers eventually gained a 40-point advantage at 74-34 with three minutes to play, before ending the game with a fast break score from Jackson for the 84-34 win.
JuToreyia Willis (Chattanooga, Tenn.) led Tuskegee on the night with a season-high 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes, followed by McElroy who finished with 14 points, six boards and five assists. Meanwhile, Bolin finished with 13 points and three assists, followed by Jackson who earned a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards in the win.

The Golden Tigers will return to play this weekend as they travel to face Miles on Saturday, January 28. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
