ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men's and women's basketball weekly honors, with senior Nadia Thorman-Mckey (Evanston, Ill.) being named Newcomer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The forward put up a pair of double figure games to help the Golden Tigers go 2-0 over the past week, starting with a 17-point, 10 rebound double-double against Central State (Jan. 9), along with four steals in 34 minutes of play. The forward followed that effort with 13 points, four rebounds and a pair of steals in 25 minutes of play in the win over LeMoyne-Owen on Saturday afternoon.
 
Thorman-Mckey wins the honor with numbers of 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per contest, and has reached double-digit scoring marks in 13 games after sitting out last season.
