TUSKEGEE – For the 86th time in one of the longest-running NCAA Division II classics in the nation, the annual Morehouse-Tuskegee Classic will be held on October 8, at historic Legion Field in Birmingham.
The two programs have met 111 total times, starting in 1902 as an entertainment event for the African American civilian community and U.S. Army soldiers in the Columbus-Fort Benning and Phenix City areas. Tuskegee took the first matchup 5-0, while Morehouse took a 31-15 win in the previous meeting in 2021 at Legion Field.
The Golden Tigers lead the all-time series 73-30-7 record but have split the last four meetings dating back to 2017. Tuskegee has a pair of nine-game win streaks in the series (1924-33, 1973-81), while the longest streak for Morehouse is four games from 1906-10.
The game in Birmingham will be the second game neutral site game of the season for the Golden Tigers, as they kick off the season in the Red Tails Classic against Fort Valley State, held in Montgomery at the Cramton Bowl.
