CLEVELAND, Miss. – Tuskegee women's basketball (2-0, 0-0 SIAC) picked up two wins over the weekend away from home with a 69-49 win over Delta State on Friday, followed by a 64-47 win over Mississippi College Saturday afternoon inside Walter Sillers Coliseum.
he Golden Tigers stormed out to a 13-4 run to start the game and ended the opening quarter with a
21-9 lead behind a combined 16 points from the trio of
Brittney Bolin (Trophy Club, Texas),
Ashiala Jackson (Merrillville, Ind.), and
Arielle McElroy (Bolingbrook, Ill.).

Tuskegee continued to control the momentum in the second period, holding Delta State to single digits for the first two quarters. The Golden Tigers scored 14 points off turnovers in the first half and led by as many as 17 points in the half.

The second half was much of the same, as Tuskegee extended their lead to 21 halfway through the third and finished the game up 20 in the win.

Four Golden Tigers ended the game in double figures, led by Bolin at the point guard position with 17 points, including going 3-for-6 from three-point range along with two rebounds and two assists. Meanwhile,
JuToreyia Willis (Chattanooga, Tenn.) finished with 12 points, 7 assists, five rebounds, and five steals, followed by
Ashiala Jackson (Merrillville, Ind.) finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, and two steals 1 block and
Nadia Thorman-Mckey (Evanston, Ill.), who added ten points off the bench.

Tuskegee outscored Delta State 32-28 in the paint, 26-17 off turnovers and 14-2 in fast break points, while never trailing in the contest.
Tuskegee 64, Mississippi College 47
The Golden Tigers also held Mississippi College under 50 points on Saturday afternoon, not allowing more than 13 points in any quarter.

After leading by five after both the first and second quarter by scores of 18-13 and 31-26, a crucial defensive third quarter from Tuskegee, outscoring Mississippi College 17-10 in the frame to push their lead to double figures at 48-38 heading into the final ten minutes, where the Golden Tigers finished the game with a 16-11 fourth quarter.

Four players finished in double figures for the second straight game with Bolin, McElroy, and Willis all with 11 points. Willis also finished with a team-high seven assists and six rebounds, while Bolin added five rebounds and two assists along with her points. Meanwhile, Jackson nearly recorded a double-double once again with ten points and nine rebounds in the win.

The Golden Tigers finished the game with shooting splits of 25-for-74 (33.8 percent) from the field and 5-for-14 (35.7 percent) from three, along with scoring 32 points in the paint, 17 points off turnovers, 17 second chance points, and 13 fast break points.
