Huskic named Special Teams Player of the Week for the second tiime this season

ATLANTA, Ga. – Arnes Huskic (Jacksonville, Fla.) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Football Special Teams Player of the week for the second time this season, announced by the conference on Monday.

 

Huskic went perfect on the day against the Panthers, going 3-for-3 on field goals of 29, 25, and 24 yards respectively. The senior also made all four of his point after attempts in the win.

 

OFFENSIVE – Ike Brown, Lane 

Running Back  |  Sophomore  |  Shreveport, La.

 

Brown accounted for 137 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in Lane's win over Tennessee State University. The sophomore caught a 13-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to put the Dragons ahead 20-17. In overtime, Brown scored on an 11-yard run to bring Lane within a point. Brown gave the Dragons the victory on the next play, powering into the end zone for a 2-point conversion and a 28-27 win in the John Merritt Classic.

 

DEFENSIVE – Nijul Canada, Lane

Trailing Tennessee State 10-6 with 28 seconds left in the first half, Canada undercut an out route and picked off Tigers quarterback Chayil Garnett's pass and took it 57 yards for a touchdown to give Lane a 13-10 halftime advantage. The senior defensive back tallied 6.0 solo tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss and one interception.

 

NEWCOMER – Kaz Dina, Central State

Running Back  |    Junior  |  Fontana, CA

 

Junior running back Kaz Dina led the Marauders to a 35-32 victory over Allen on Saturday. Dina rushed for 161 yards and a score with an average of 10.7 yards per carry. He also caught six receptions for 63 yards including the game-winning score with two seconds left on the clock.
