ATLANTA, Ga. | The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its weekly football honors, with Tuskegee student-athletes earning two of three awards on Monday.
Linebacker
Vincent Hill (Fairburn, Ga.) was named Defensive Player of the Week, while receiver
Antonio Meeks (Lilburn, GA.) was named Newcomer of the Week after the Golden Tigers' win over Lane in the Bluff City Classic in Memphis.
Hill recorded 11 total tackles in his return against the Dragons after missing last week for the Golden Tigers, with nine solo stops and two assisted as well as a pair of tackles for loss in the 35-31 win against Lane.
Meanwhile, Meeks had his best day as a Golden Tiger so far over the weekend, finishing the game with season-highs of six receptions and 141 yards for two scores, his first two of his career. The receiver also led all pass catchers for Tuskegee with a game-high 58 yard catch in the win in Memphis.
The Golden Tigers will look to carry their momentum and clinch the Western Division this weekend with a road matchup against Kentucky State.
