Tuskegee Releases 2022-23 Men’s Basketball Schedule

TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee Athletics and head men's basketball coach Benjy Taylor has released the
2022-23 schedule on Monday afternoon featuring four non-conference home games.
"We are excited about our upcoming 2022-23 men's basketball schedule, where we have a very tough slate ahead with strong non-conference competition," head coach Benjy Taylor stated. "Outside of an always tough SIAC schedule, we face seven opponents that participated in last year's NCAA Division II Tournament. We also have special non-conference events such as hosting the SIAC-Gulf South Challenge to start the year along with participating in the first annual 'Atlanta Has Something to Say' HBCU Showcase at Morehouse College. Our program is excited about the journey and the challenges ahead and look forward to seeing you in Chappie James."

The Golden Tigers open the season on the road with an exhibition contest against Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Jackson State on October 28. Tuskegee will play their first official game on Veteran's Day as they will host the South Region Crossover Classic inside Daniel "Chappie" James Arena. The Classic will include games against Union and Shorter on November 11 and November 12, respectively.

Tuskegee will then host Georgia College (November 15) to wrap up a three-game home stint to start the season, before heading to Atlanta for the HBCU Challenge to face Fayetteville State (November 18) and Shaw (November 19), both at Forbes Arena.

Taylor and his team then travel to Pensacola to take on West Florida on November 22 for a noon tip, before a starting conference play with pair of home bouts against Fort Valley State on November 26 and Albany State on November 28.

The Golden Tigers will start the month of December on the road, facing Morehouse (December 3) and Clark Atlanta (December 5), while facing their last non-conference opponent of the regular season in Columbus State (December 9).

Tuskegee will have 16 remaining SIAC games on the schedule after the matchup with Columbus State, with the home portion of the conference schedule featuring Savannah State (December 15), Edward Waters (December. 17), LeMoynen-Owen (January 14), Lane (January 16), Spring Hill (January 21), and Miles (January 25) to close out the month of January.

The Golden Tigers close out the regular season with matchups against Central State (February 18) and Kentucky State (February 20) as their lone February home contests before the start of postseason play.
